Basic Pistol Courses are available to both the membership and the general public through the Tewksbury Rod & Gun Club.
NRA and State Certified Instructors review the following:
- Handgun parts and operation
- Ammunition
- Taking the First Shot (Dry Firing Exercises)
- Handgun and Holster Selection
- Cleaning and Storage
- Avoiding a criminal confrontation
- Massachusetts Firearm Laws
- Live Fire Range Exercises
The Basic Pistol Course is typically held the 3rd Saturday of the month between September and May,
except December, as long as a minimum of 5 people register. The course is a eight hour course which runs
from 8:30 am to 5 pm on Saturday.
The class costs $75 for TR&G Club Members or $100 for non-club members.
Immediate family (husband, wife, son, daughter) of TR&G members are also eligible for a reduced price ($75).
